Terry Rex – A Deep Dive into a Career in Sales and How to Stay Motivated Part 1

Terry Rex is a Solutions Specialist with Pacesetter Enterprises. He brings 30 plus years of business management, sales, and marketing experience to the Pacesetter Team. Terry will be supporting existing customers in addition to his new customer development responsibilities.

Terry spent the last 3-1/2 years with Seaway Manufacturing as a Territory Manager and Marketing Specialist. Seaway is a window, door, and sunroom manufacturer. Along with his contributions to Seaway’s marketing efforts, he was extremely successful in cross selling product lines within the company’s customer base and excelled at new customer development. After earning his Sunroom Installation Certification he soon became a co-instructor in the company’s Sunroom Installation Certification Training program.

Terry began his manufacturing career in 1986 with B.F. Rich Windows and Doors as a Sales Representative. Terry quickly advanced within the company ranks and became their liaison to many industry associations including the Department of Energy’s Energy Star program. From 2005 on, Terry led the sales and marketing efforts as Vice President of Sales & Marketing at B.F. Rich Windows and Doors. He was responsible for both the northern and the southern regions consisting of seven territory managers.

Through Terry’s innovative marketing efforts, B.F. Rich Windows & Doors was recognized as Top Seller 2010 in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Highly Insulating R-5 Windows Volume Purchase Program. He was the driving force behind B.F. Rich’s very successful Green Shield product offering.

Terry completed his Installation Masters Certification courses and served in many board roles with a local chapter of Toastmaster’s International.

He served on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Window and Door Association from 1997 – 2003 and elected President of the Association for the 2003 – 2004 term.

Terry sat in a leadership role with the Window & Door Dealers Alliance as a member of their Marketing Council.  Their mission is to represent window and door dealers by providing a common voice on industry policy.

He is a proponent of teamwork and understands the value of each person’s contribution to the company.

Terry was born and raised in Eastern Pennsylvania.  Terry has maintained his small-town roots and places a high value on family. He and his wife of 34 years have four children and four grandchildren.
